At first, you're probably thinking this is the equivalence of glorified fanfiction. This is where you're wrong. Much like the Larry David approach to Seinfeld or Curb Your Enthusiasm, the ethos behind "Dissect My Brain with Zombies" was simple: take all my friends, make them extra neurotic, and unleash zombies on them. The original inspiration for this comic was one done by my friends called College of the Dead. However, whereas that went for a somewhat more serious approach to zombie survival, I wanted my comic to consider how my friends and I would act in a zombie crisis. . . and then make all the characters seem like even bigger jerks from there. One of the gags in the two incarnations of Dissect My Brain is that Kasatka is always pitching the idea of "naked bitches" and "zombies." And so I figured: "Why not? Let's make a silly comic about this." Calvin signed on as artist, and I provided the script. It's one of my first collaborations, and I rather enjoyed it. Truthfully, my strength has always been in the writing over the art, and I think Calvin did an amazing job bringing this to life.
